]]> BusesOn Saturday 26th January 2008, Australia Day was celebrated in style at Goat Rock.  Over 100 people, including a bus from Toowoomba and a bus from the Gold Coast, celebrated with an Aussie BBQ Buffet lunch including wattleseed blinis, steak marinated in Dumaresq Valley wine and wattleseed pavlova.  Jim Brown, from Inverell, was our Bush Poet for the afternoon and as always entertained the crowd and kept the laughs going.  A fantastic afternoon was had by all.

The Bonshaw CWA held an Australian Trivia afternoon afterwards and six teams competed.  Everyone enjoyed the afternoon and found that they didn’t know a great deal about our own country!  Thanks to everyone that supported the CWA in their fundraising efforts.

Later in the afternoon we threw brooms and tossed thongs to see how far we could get them.  Everyone joined in, with the winners taking home Australian beer glasses and a pair of Aussie thongs!  Dinner was a barbie and lots of music and dancing afterwards.  Thanks to everyone who joined in and enjoyed themselves.
